Ed, 4 lovely shots here. Excellent poses and detail. Kind of irritating that so many Hawaiian birds are on the grass, but they eat the bugs there, so it is what it is.
Nice work!

These are nice looking birds and they are very common in many places. I think there’s some variations to the colors. Seems to me that when I take pictures of them, a lot of the golden color is more Pronounced. Since you have them in California, you should compare.

All well captured showing good detail. I’d go with the first as my favorite for the leg motion and for some reason I prefer seeing birds move left to right.

Four very nice images, Ed. I like the pose in the second the best.

The only two places I’ve photographed these are Hawaii (big island) and Nome. They’re much more colorful in Nome because it’s breeding season there. @David_Schoen probably sees them on their way to breed.

Very nice poses Ed. A treat so see this bird on the hunt like this. I think the last image could use more space in front and less on bottom. Nice catches.

Wow, thanks @SandyR-B, @David_Schoen, @Allen_Brooks, @Dennis_Plank and @Allen_Sparks. Dennis, my wife and I have seen the black-bellied plovers in Texas that look a lot like the Golden Plovers in breeding plumage, only without the golden colors. I agree on the spacing on the last image Allen, it had pretty much the same pose as the first, so I turned it into a portrait instead.
