Blue Grama spent seed head

I often find the way the spent seed heads of blue grama grass curl to be very elegant. Because of the dry climate the local heads rarely have more than 2 seed heads on a single stem. This is a 25 shot stack to get both curls sharp. (R5, 180mm macro, 1/500 s, f/10, iso 800, tripod)

Well, I don’t know much about focus stacking, Mark but I do know what an important native grass Blue Gramma is, and how beautiful the seed heads are, which you have captured so well. Very nicely done.

Very nice, Mark. That BG really supports the seed heads nicely. I love the lines and shapes in this. The seed heads curving out in opposite directions makes a nice composition. Well done.

That is impressive - 25 shots for a spent seed head! It’s beautiful - so graceful.

Excellent focus stack, Mark. The background is also nicely out of focus. Great image.

Mark: This is elegant and beautiful indeed. Amazing that it was still enough for you to get so many shots for your stack. Wonderful result. >=))>
