A wonderful image, Don. I love those two main clusters of spines and as you noted the shadows of them add a lot to the image. Very well seen and executed.

Thanks, Dennis.

Hi Don,

I like the shadows from the spines. Your choice of B&W was appropriate for this type of image IMHO.

I also find the ribbed texture of the spines interesting.
The composition and tones are pleasing to view.

Nice work!

Wow! (That pretty well covers it!) I love the idea and the execution. A fantastic mini-world find. Wonderful tonalities in the ridges of the plant as well as the thorns. Yes, the shadows are a wonderful feature, and in this case I like the pieces of thorns coming in from the edges, especially the one in the UL corner. The one in the LR is different enough that, for me, it doesn’t fit well. A crop from the right just past its center would work for me. A wonderful image!

Don: I love it when I can be lazy and just ditto @Diane_Miller. This is very well seen, lit, composed and presented. Most excellent. >=))>

Merv, Diane, Bill, thank you all for commenting.
