Crystal Bubbles

Image

Image Description

Coming back from a local park one morning, I was dazzled by the sunlight glinting off theses grasses in the median of the street. I had my macro lens with me and stopped to take some photos. Fortunately, it was early and not a busy street. Anyone driving past who wasn’t a photographer probably wondered what this woman was doing in the grass in the median.

Chris,

What a fascinating photograph. I love how small the dew drops become and the relative size difference from the largest drop to the smallest. The mix of purple strands with the yellow tones through out are a great color combination.

Gorgeous, like some arty chandeliers - I love the purple strands too. And those bubbles encircled by yellow are special. The composition is great. Did you rotate the image, or were things hanging down as shown? Lovely image, Chris.

Chris: What a terrific find and a great capture. My only suggestion for improvement is a small crop from the top and right to eliminate the lone bubble in the URC and the prominent bokeh spot on the right side. Both, especially the bubble, pull my eye away from all that wonderful action in the cluster. Well seen and very nicely captured. >=))>

@Youssef_Ismail Thank you very much.
@Mike_Friel Didn’t rotate the image. The seed heads were weighted down by the water.
@Bill_Fach Thanks for the your suggestions. Always nice to have a fresh set of eyes to see things I’ve missed.

Great find and very well photographed, Chris. I do like @Bill_Fach modification. An amazing array of water drops.

Oh my, Chris, what a find and what a shot. A lot of eye candy here. I just love refractions like this. I’m sure you did make some drivers wonder what you were doing.

Chris, this is a great find. The drops and their various sizes are impressive and nicely clear. The red strands make a fine change-of-pace to the water drops. Bill’s crops makes a “cleaner” look, but having those bits tells me that there was a lot more like this outside of the frame. For me that adds to the wonder.

@Dennis_Plank @Mark_Seaver @Shirley_Freeman Thank you for your wonderful comments!
