I think the balance between light and dark is good. The sharp texture in the sand contrasts nicely with the soft sky and far distance. It feels a bit muddy though - have you played with the sliders to add a bit more contrast? Possibly some texture and/or clarity would be helpful, too. There’s a nice pattern and story that could be accentuated with a bit more punch. Very nice scene.
This is an engaging composition. The foreground sand ripples are fun to explore, and the texture there contrasts nicely with the lack of texture in the sky. I am a fan of higher contrast black and white photography, and while I think your darks are right where they should be I’d prefer to see the light tones lifted by at least a stop. Thank you for sharing, @UlbeSpaans.
Excellent image! This image shows vision and that’s not common. This also has strong emotions. It’s hard to suggest anything because composition is not really important here in my opinion. I guess the horizon line leans a bit to the right a bit if you want some technical feedback.
Moody and mysterious; I like this Ulbe! I like all the ripples in the sand as well as the diagonal placement of the water as it draws my eye to the beach beyond. The partial hills peering out of the fog is another wonderful element and adds to the mystery of this image. I could see a little more contrast as the sky looks a little muddy. I hope you do not mind, but here is a rework with what I was thinking. Just my opinion of course.
For whatever it’s worth, I like the level of contrast in the original image. I don’t think it can be significantly increased without impairing the mood and feeling of the original.
