Greg, this works for me. It does have one wondering or guessing as to what came in contact with the barbs there. I also like the diagonal take on the twisted wire strand…
Only change might be to turn the brightness down slightly, but it’s a subjective thought on that idea…
Yes, and the story is “ouch”, he said from personal experience. Greg, this is a good look at deer hair stuck on a barb. The nearly corner-to-corner layout of the barbed wire works well and you’ve got enough detail to make it clear that this is deer hair with a nice mix of guard hair (long, thick and stiff) and under fur (small and twisty). This deer likely moved away with a noticeable scratch. It’s also clear that the animal was moving from right to left as it crossed this fence.
Tried adjusting the histogram and the white balance and then just went darker looking for a bit more dark and dangerous I like darker, Thanks Paul…
Mark, You read the story well! As verified from a trail cam some feet away.
Thank you both for the comments.
This certainly does tell a story, Greg. I do like the repost with the darker interpretation.
Looks like the seat of my britches, trying to get away from a yellow jacket swarm! Thanks to Mark, I have reached a deeper understanding. I am a tree guy, what do I know of deer hair? Usually the wire fails when a tree falls on it.
Seriously, I appreciate the story, once explained. And not only the documentation of the story, but a story compositionally well told. I also like the darker repost.
Thanks Phil. Yes, Mark did good!
Greg: th story is very well told. Your repost is a very nice improvement as it really allows the subject to stand out against the background rather than compete with it. Richard
Greg: on the repost especially. Good comp and capture. I like your DOF management especially. Very well done.>=))>
