Dreaming Bridge

Different frame in B/W

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This might be pushing reflections a bit, but this is an ICM image of a railroad bridge over the Savannah River in Augusta, GA. I was meeting up a local photo group one evening. I didn’t see anything of interest at first, but I started doing some ICM with the water, the bridge and its reflection. The other members of the group were intrigued by what I was doing, so I explained about ICM, and a few started to play with it as well. Some even liked doing it.

Specific Feedback

I think I like the tones in the color version more. But the geometry of the bridge comes out more in the B/W. Either version seem more interesting?

Technical Details

Both taken with Canon R and 24mm-240mm at about 80mm
Color: ISO 400, f/32 at 0.25 sec
B/W: ISO 100, f/20 at 0.19 sec

Patrick: Well conceived and executed. I’m partial to the color version due to the pastel palette but the B&W is nice too. :+1: :+1:>=))>

Patrick, I too prefer the color version, where the warm/cool contrast adds a fine touch of intrigue to the view.

Thank you @Bill_Fach and @Mark_Seaver for helping me move more to the color image as well.

This is fine art Patrick. I’m learning from the image that some subtle reflections have more potential than the perfect mirrors we all seek. I like the color version best.

Thanks @james7 , yes, I’m just as guilty of wanting that perfect mirror looks as well. So, I’m glad this one worked out the way it did.
