Dry clover bloom + RP

And an edit already – I felt the OOF bloom in the BG was too prominent.

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another from one of the recent mornings with dew. Humidity is now at 30% as I write and the dried blossoms of various kinds crunch under feet like potato chips.

Technical Details

Small focus stack to try to get most of the droplets in focus. Not much done in LR going into Zerene – some global tonal tweaks. Back in PS for denoise and some BG softening with low opacity cloning. Cropped in from the sides; mostly full frame vertically.

While the original is wonderful, the RP is even better. No distractions. Could be titled: “Hanging on” or “Please don’t leave.” (My goofy way of seeing things).

Great find !!! Your image is really interesting and simple. I love the tone and the delicate vibe it gives. Beautiful BG and the Fstop you choose. F 4 is a stop I never use so I think you have taught me more on framing and how to make an image work using this Fstop technique. Very cool. Really brings my eyes into the image. !!!

Diane, the RP is really nice. I especially like the stem going up between the pedals of the main subject. It’s almost like the pedals are trying to hug the stem. The BG is really complimentary to subject. The dew drops are icing on the cake.

Diane: Good call on the rework and a fine find and capture. I especially like your stack/DOF management. Top notch shot. >=))>

Nice job removing that bg stuff. If I didn’t know you had done it, I wouldn’t have noticed. It makes the composition stronger for sure.

Thanks, @Jim_Gavin, @Gill_Vanderlip, @Shirley_Freeman, @Bill_Fach and @Kris_Smith! And Shirley and Bill, many thanks for the EP! Always such a delightful surprise!
