Beautiful use of golden light and tack sharp. Gorgeous shot.

Beautiful image, David. Superb detail, nice pose, and the frost is a definite bonus. Interesting that the feather shafts are looking so yellow.

Perch, BG, and light are all excellent. However, the bird’s face doesn’t look quite as sharp as the perch and parts of the body. Based on your SS, aperture, and the fact that everything else seems to be within your DoF, I’d guess there is some motion blur in the head and the bird’s left wing. One other suggestion is that I would try for a shot where the bird is more directly lit, perhaps in the afternoon. The setting has so much potential, I’d definitely keep working it!
