This year the Little Blue Heron population increased in Old lyme, CT. It was not uncommon to see this pair or other juveniles hunting on the shore of the Back or One Mile River. This shot was taken on Aug. 1, at 9:47 AM for the Zodiac on the One Mile River.

Canon R5, Sigma 150-600mm, f7.1, 600mm, 1/2000, ISO 1000. The shot was cropped by 60%.

Excellent image, Peter. I like the relative positions and they’re both in excellent focus and properly exposed. A nice contrast of the juvenile and adult plumages.

Excellent job on focus of 2 birds together. You did a superb job on the exposure of 2 very different plumage colors.
