Beth: I love the soft color palette and the sharpness of the main subjects and perch. The comp would work better for me as either a vertical isolating the main flower and bees or one where the camera was shifted more to the left giving less room on the right and more to the left of the OOF blooms. Still a wonderful capture and nicely presented. >=))>
This is wonderful!! I love the juxtaposition of the beautifully sharp and detailed flower stalk and bees against the softly OOF spike. The BG highlight is a lovely element and so nicely framed.
I am a bit bothered by the distance between the main spike and the repeating one, though. If you positioned to move them closer together you would have lost the BG highlight, but I wonder about decentering that highlight by including more canvas on the left? Or, I can interpret the tension as intentional and an element to make me think beyond the surface beauty. In any case, a gorgeous image!
Beth, this is a very inviting view of these bees, with the soft, subtly colorful surroundings. The sharpness of the bees and their target flowers looks great. The 2nd flower adds well to the view.
