While this is far from true Pacific Northwest rain forest, there are relatively few dry days from the beginning of the October rains through at least May in this area and the mosses and sword ferns love it. This is a typical chunk of 3rd or 4th growth forest (actively logged) taken yesterday.

Canon 5DIII, EF 28-70 f/2.8 @ 42 mm, tripod with ballhead and cable release, f/22, 0.6 sec, iso 500, manual exposure. Processed in LR and PS CC. Just enough crop to straighten (picked an arbitrary tree trunk that looked about average). Taken yesterday at 10:44 am under overcast skies.
