The most interesting part of this image for me is the perspective of the viewer. It feels like we’re looking down the sight of a cannon. This perspective is so dominant that the mushrooms play a minor role. I like it this way.
To make it about the mushrooms I would crop this to a square, centering the face of the log in the frame.

Agree with Igor’s comments. If anything, I might like a little more space around the edges, especially on the right. I do like the bold composition and point of view. The mushrooms are just an interesting addition, but not the main subject. I really like the carpet of leaves which I think creates the need for more space around the log. Color and processing looks good.
