Ferncliff Copper Dahlia

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

The first of the dahlias are flowering out in the garden and Ferncliff Copper was one I chose to photograph. I placed the cut flower in a beer bottle vase and used a portable light tent to diffuse the sunlight. The lighting turned out to my liking and set up the Z9 for focus stacking.

Specific Feedback

I may need to tweak back the cyan slightly as I feel that the colors are somewhat muted. What do you think? It is a very challenging flower to get the colors just right.

Technical Details

Z9 60mm f2.8 Micro (1/250 sec. at f4.0, ISO 64, Natural Light) 74 image stack PMax, Levels, slight boost for Magenta, Yellow, Orange saturation.

Jim: I like everything about this. Wonderful color palette, brilliant lighting and a terrific result. The colors look pretty good to me and I even like the tiny leaf at the bottom. Beautiful portrait. >=))>

Gorgeous! I can’t know if the colors are accurate but I’m not sure how they could be better. Wonderful lighting and detail!

Gorgeous Dahlia, Jim, and beautifully photographed.

Could not be better. Vibrant colours, perfect perspective and comp.
Exquisite!
