Description

My favorite hawk is the ferruginous, and every Winter I am fortunate to have this one hang out nearby. I know it’s the same one. It has a leg band. It had been heavily preening and I got this capture while its feathers were still fluffed out some. Very friendly poser. I cloned out a few BG branches.

Specific Feedback

Cropping? Sky hue?

Hi Dave, nice portrait of this photogenic hawk. Fine sharpness throughout on the bird and perch. I like the arching perch also with the bird right at the top of the curve. Sky looks fine to me. I’m fine with the cropping with the bird positioned where it is on the branch.

Fine image of a beautiful raptor. Well done. The sky looks good. Interesting perch. The crop looks okay; alternatively I guess there could be a little less room on the right and a bit more on the left.
