this was taken several years ago and I may have submitted a similar image previously. But this is Henderson Inlet, the smallest Inlet on Puget Sound. The fog is just lifting well enough to see the trees in the background.

The warm light is a plus and the water fowl gives the eye a starting point to a peaceful setting. Nicely done !

Excellent capture at the perfect moment, that bird taking off really adds so much to the scene. The atmosphere is perfect with fog almost everywhere, and yet so translucent as to still reveal the important details and thick enough to hold back the sun. It must have been a great time there soaking it all in.

This was a very special moment. I have looked at this view many times yet have only seen the light like this one time. We have fog almost every day in the morning and it usually burns off by 10 am. Yes, this is the view from the water side of my home. I have been in this house for over 25 years. I don’t think that’s a deer in the left upper part of the water but a large bird such as a cormorant. That is more likely this time of year. Thanks for the comments.
David, this is very restful and peaceful…what fog often offers… The warm brown colors and the sun just starting to peek through make a wonderful atmosphere.
