What a blessing it is to have my bucket list of local photography opportunities far exceed the amount of time I had in 2024. Makes “hitting the ground running” at the start of 2025 so much easier!

Here are four images that were taken at four of my favorite local locations: Asilomar State Beach (_01.jpg), Cosumnes River Preserve (_02.jpg), Auburn SRA (_03.jpg), and Point Lobos State Natural Reserve (_04.jpg).

I’m a color guy. Do you think the color palettes I chose match the subjects?

Pertinent Technical Details

All images shot using a Nikon Z8. Cosumens Rive Preserve sunset image taken with the 14-30 mm lens. All others with the 100-400 mm lens. Assorted shutter speeds, f/stops, ISOs, etc.
Minor Lightroom + Photoshop adjustments.

Franz, these are all nicely subtle and inviting, even the wave splashing feels gentle. I especially like the view across the wetland and the misty eroded granite views. BTW, if you pick a descriptive name when as you export these to NPN standards, that name shows on each image as a viewer scrolls through multiple images.

I do; lots of nice and nuanced stuff there. I’m especially attracted to that third and fourth images; nicely done. Happy New Year Franz!
