Jim, this is lovely. The blooms and icicles show very well and contrast nicely with the coolness of the background. I especially like the blue showing through the ice along the branch. You might try some burning-in on the background along the right to let those icicles show a bit more strongly.
Excellent, Jim. I’ve seen those sprayers in the orchards and Weyerhaeuser uses the same technique on their seedling farm here that creates some interesting ice formations. This is a beautiful result.
Apricots do bloom early and are very prone to freezing. I like this one as presented due to the range of colors in the scene and for the details present in the icicles…Jim
Jim: I love the colors you have here in the subject and the BG. My only suggestion has to do with the comp which would work for me a little better if the branch was not so horizontal. Rotating the camera 10-15 degrees would still look ok without calling attention to the icicles not hanging perfectly vertical. Nice find and a fine capture. >=))>
Thank you for the nice comments and helpful suggestions. @Mark_Seaver Your burning in suggestions is a good idea. Thanks. @Bill_Fach I did not think of a slight camera rotation, and the warm weather is no upon us, so I probably won’t be able to try it under similar conditions. Good idea.
