Aside from being a harbinger of Spring, I enjoy the symmetry displayed by these snowdrops when they appear in March each year. Interestingly, the green shading is shaped like a fish, which is a common staple during the Lenten celebration.

Yes, the colors and symmetry definitely work on this image. Well done.
Jim, I love the symmetry too. Amazing, that little “green fish” framed between the snowdrops. Nicely captured.
Thank you @Shirley_Freeman and @David_Bostock for your kind comments. Upon further review I wish I had included more of the green “bulb” up top.

Jim, this is a fine, tight look at this snowdrop, where you’ve emphasized the flower nicely. There are numerous ways to shoot a subject like this. Given what you’ve set up here, I think getting a bit closer (if possible), to further fill the frame with the two petals and the “fish” could work although it might need to be stacked to get enough dof. You could move around to the “front” to hide the stem behind the flower. You could back off a bit to get the full arch of the stem and flower. In addition to those ideas, you then need to think about the background. I’m enjoying the oof flowers and thinking that having them fill the frame might be nice. In another 6 - 8 weeks you’ll be able to explore these again.
Hi @Mark_Seaver , thanks for your interesting and useful advice on shooting snowdrops. More opportunities are just around the corner!
