Garden Path - New Version

New Version

Description:

This is a pathway in the Huntington Cactus Gardens in Southern California.

Specific Feedback Requested:

I’d like feedback on how inviting, or not, this scene is to explore. General impressions and ways to improve this or future photos like it.

Pertinent technical details or techniques:

Canon 5DMiii, f11, 1/640s, iso 640, 100-400 lens at 100 mm. Cropped for composition.

I like this, Ed. One thing you might play with is the relative brightness in the different parts of an image like this. My personal taste with a pathway like this is to have a little more light at the far end of the path than the near end, so the eye tends more to go that way. It looks like a beautiful garden and if I ever get down that way again, I’ll have to look it up.

Cool. Thank you @Dennis_Plank. I subtly played with the lightness at the end of the pathway and I think it really makes a difference.

Ed, a beautiful garden with a very inviting pathway. Dennis’s idea about lightening the end of the path is a good one - the subtle changes are definitely an improvement.
