Description
The rose bushes are bursting into full bloom in our garden. I tried to capture the natural beauty and glow of this Dick Clark floribunda rose.
Specific Feedback
I appreciate any and all insights and feedback. I would like your opinion on balance. Has the out of focus rose in the top left quadrant created a balance issue in your opinion. Are the colors to vibrant? s the vignette too obvious? Thank you for your time and interest.

Ray: A beautiful rose and I’m OK with the intense color and I also like how you handled the light. The OOF flower in the ULC is a major distraction for me and I would try to make it go away with some CA work. In the field I try to position my camera to keep unwanted elements out of the frame. It looks like if you had shifted your POV to the left you may have been able to get a clean shot. Still a fine capture of a marvelous subject. >=))>
A gorgeous flower but I would urge you to re-shoot it in shaded light. It may seem counter-intuitive but you can bring out the colors even more that way! The camera doesn’t see things they way our eyes do.
Ray, the colors certainly pop with the high contrast lighting and the rose is a beauty. Including (or not) the oof rose strike me as being about the story. If you want to emphasize the single bloom as a flower protrait, the the oof flower is a distraction. If you’re trying to make the view about the rose bush and it’s multiple blooms, then you might even include more of the oof bloom. Something you could do here to reduce the influence of the oof bloom would be to desaturate the color in that corner. I also think that a view under slightly overcast conditions could work well.
