Nice look against a nice background. There’s almost something forlorn about his look.

Nice composition and love the background. Also, nice head turn with a little catch eye of the goldfinch.

Nicely composed image David with the bird well placed in the frame and on that interesting perch. Pleasing BG. Nice look at the goldfinch too.

Nice detail in the goldfinch, David, and a good job controlling the highlights, which are so easy to blow out on this species. As usual, you have the most beautiful perches. Allen B mentioned a forlorn look-I suspect without much of a black patch on the forehead, he may not be a hit with the ladies this summer.
