I can certainly say that this doesn’t look like the dead of winter!
Great pose with the legs spread and a little bit of lunch in the beak. I like the pleasingly soft background colors which makes the bird pop. The perch is a little busy and distracting but hey, what can you do about that? The exposure looks just about perfect and you had great light to work with. You may want to run some more sharpening on this guy as he appears just a little bit soft but other than that, Great WINTER capture!

Very good job on this goldfinch, Allen. It must be getting ready for spring with that brilliant yellow. Nice pose and the business of the perch doesn’t bother me a bit. I do agree with @David_Haynes that a touch of sharpening on the bird would help this image.

Nice capture of this colorful finch, Allen. Very nice light that highlights its bright plumage. Agree with others on the softness. It looks like the focus point is on the breast.
