Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
These snapshots are the result of a year old tradition of fireworks at New Years evening, seen in every street in every city, town and hamlet. Probably for the last time, because it will most likely be banned next year (after a lot of discussion). Sad but wise, given the large number of eye injuries, lost fingers or hands, and severe burns.
I hope that everyone in this community will experience a great 2026, in good health, with many satisfying images.

Happy New Year, Han. And that first shot is a great start on your photographic journey for the next year!
Happy New Year! That first one is fantastic! The others have a vaguely Astro-photography feel to them, especially the third, which is like a Milky Way.
Fireworks are banned locally here in Portland, but I still heard plenty of them last night. Interestingly, it’s fires and PTSD triggers sited as reasons more than injuries.

Happy 2026 everyone!
Stay safe and have some fun!
Beautiful images, Han.
Fireworks are banned here in Tuolumne County, CA due to the fire risk. I did hear some firearm discharges last night. I can only hope they didn’t fire into the air.

Preston…years ago during my telecommunications career one of my coworkers had a new year day wake up call. Laying on her living room coffee table was a elongated rifle round. Totally shocked she had no idea how it got there. She called to her husband and asked what was with the item on the table. He looked up and found a hole thru the ceiling where the discharge had plunged to the carpet flooring and bounced upon the table…
Yikes!
People are stupid. Unfortunately, such incidents are far too common.
Have a great 2026, Paul!

Thanks @Dennis_Plank , @Preston_Birdwell , @Paul_Breitkreuz and @Marylynne_Diggs for your comments.
Marylynne, funny that you see a Milky Way in the third. I had the same thought. Looks a bit like a nebula with stars. That’s why I selected this one.
