Lovely shot. It seems a very west coast setting. Nice positioning of GBH in frame and bg is lovely with a painterly feel. Nice cool feel. It is very nice and you can feel the heron flying by.
I agree the shot has a painterly feel to it. The heron stands out well from the background and you caught a nice angle and wing position. I like BIF shots that show the environment and there is nice layering here with the water, grasses, and trees.
