Just another heron…

Elegant detail to complement the elegant pose! The subtle detail in the water is wonderful, the grasses give a nice sense of place without being distracting and the dark seedheads match the darks in the bird so well. I often wonder if birds tend to perch in matching surroundings. Camouflage??
I really like the composition with the watery background and grassy foreground-nice sense of place. Nice pose and detail in the heron.
A very nice environmental shot of the heron. A solitary bird resting or on the look out for food. For me it just feels a tiny bit tight on bottom for feet. Nicely composed.
