Hidden Light

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Toward the end of our great northwest tour of 2016 we found ourselves in Glacier National Park. We hiked up to Hidden Lake under cloudy and cold skies and I did get some good images of the lake and Bearhat Mountain. We hiked a little past the Hidden Lake interpretive area and the clouds began to break up and spill sunshine on the hillsides to the north and west.>=))>

Specific Feedback

Reprocessed in LRC to bring out more color and contrast on the hills. Overdone or just right?

Technical Details

Sony A77II
Sony 70-400 G @ 210mm
ISO 400, 1/160 @ f8

Not even remotely overdone – just right!! You retained the look of misty atmosphere and breaking clouds and captured some great light. No nits!

Bill, your processing has turned this into a beautifully artistic view, with the details slightly obscure while the lighting pulls my eyes from the lower left into the distance. The lighting helps that eye pull.

Hi Bill,
I am way late to the party on commenting on this lovely image. The light is flat out gorgeous and the processing is definitely not overdone. The textures and details in the large version are amazing. I could also see this with a little crop from the top; not a nit just a twofer if you will. I hope you do not mind, but here is a repost with what I was thinking. I could see this as a poster with an inspirational message. Beautifully done.
