The crop works for me, Allen. Beautiful image. We don’t seem to get any species of these in our immediate area, though I’ve seen one in Eastern Washington.

Allen, the crop looks fine. You’ve got excellent detail in both the Moth and the flower. I’m especially attracted to what looks like a reflection of the pink flower color in the upper wing.

KILLER image!! The moth is tack-sharp and in a perfect pose to show all parts.
The flower is nicely blurred. I’m surprised it isn’t sharper at F 16, though - still works fine.
The pink reflection in the wing is icing on a perfect cake.
Superb!

Allen: What @Sandy_Richards-Brown said. Count me with the folks who like the crop. These are very rare visitors to our garden so I’m green with envy. Marvelous capture. >=))>

Agree with all the above, especially that wing reflection - it’s special. I’d be tempted to brighten the eye area and the body area below the wing just a little (with LR adjustment brush or Nik Viveza) - but that’s a very minor detail. Super moth, and shot.

I got busy and missed this – and I’m glad I caught it now because it’s wonderful! These guys are not easy to photograph!

Hi Allen,

What a well-executed image. You should be proud.

I uncovered an amusing piece of trivia. In some parts of the United States, the common name for this animal is “Flying Lobster.”

Russ

Exceptional image - congrats on a fine EP!
