I never really looked at a Hydrangea

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I have a new Hydrangea with huge flowers and the tiny dot at the center of each bract (which is really the flower) is big enough to show some structure, so I started doing some pictures and finally worked my way down to capturing the structure as it opened. I added a TC to the macro lens to get a little more than 1:1 enlargement.

Technical Details

Focus stack, not much else done. Some dirt cloned off and noise reduction.

Diane: Oh this is fine! I love the soft color palette and details. It may be a small thing but I also like that the opening is not a pure black hole although one has to look carefully to see some of the hidden details. Most excellent. >=))>

Very nice, Diane. I don’t think I have looked that closely at the center part of the Hydrangea flower before. I will have to pay attention the next time I am near one. Love the color palette.

This is beautiful. It looks like a painting. I find there’s a whole other world when you take close up pictures of flowers. I love the softness.

Awesome image, Diane. It’s always interesting to get down to the fine detail in something like that. Like others, I’ve never looked that closely at one and it’s a pleasure to see it so well photographed.

Wonderful Diane! Really like the colors and textures. Well composed with the overlapping petals. We have these in the yard - I’ll have to take a close look!
