A cool angle on the lily pad, Jim. You have very nice detail throughout the pad and I like the colors. I also like the little spots of duckweed on it. All that said, the image does’t really grab me. I’m wondering if a lower point of view would have given it a more dramatic look, and like duck photography, more separation from the background.

Why some lily pads stand up out of the water I don’t know, but it allowed you to capture the detail nicely. Maybe its hiding the flower on the other side? Have you tried zooming in to make the lines and colors of the pad more prominent or the sole subject in this image? Might or might not work.

Long time, no see, Jim! Welcome to NPN! Interesting detail of the underside of the lily pad. I think this would be worth exploring as a subject in more detail. Good first effort!
