Hi David. Excellent detail in this bird. Nice to have these as regular visitors. With the downward leaning pose here I think you can get away with a square crop that will do away with the end of the perch, though the original isn’t particularly objectionable. Here’s my very quick take on it:

A slightly vertical crop might work better.

I think that the crop works well for this nuthatch . I do prefer Dennis’s crop because the bird seems to have more room to move than the others. I like the lighting and the BG is perfect for this nuthatch…Jim

I love the looks you get from these birds. Nice capture of a little character here David. I didn’t have any objection to your original crop, but @Dennis_Plank 's version is a bit cleaner. Nice BG, nice look, nice perch and nice details.
