Or maybe I just need to crop more. I liked the bit of rusty color and the curved shape on the left of the perch but the Nuthatch deserves the attention.
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
It was cloudy-bright today – a rare treat here – but the birds are thinning out. The Nuthatches are still active, though, and willing to offer a variety of poses.

Technical Details
A slight bump in exposure and a very small move to lighten Shadows. Into PS for Topaz Denoise, but Low Light at the Model Pref’s almost gave too much sharpening! Slight crop from the bottom and right.

Really nice pose. The detail, the lighting, and the composition are all wonderful. This looks like another white breasted, nuthatch. A very pleasing image altogether.
I feel like a broken record:
“Wonderful pose, tack-sharp detail, a “10” cuteness factor, and sweet BG”. Maybe I’ll just copy and paste this for every nuthatch you pose! They are ALL excellent!
Wow…these guys are such interesting little critters. So perfect for an interested and talented bird photographer. I like the curving texture of the wood and the curving texture of the bird. So fabulous.
Thanks, @David_Schoen, @SandyR-B and @Kris_Smith. I wondered about trying to tone down the rugged perch, which was competing for attention with the bird. I’ve posted a slight revision above. Going further started looking unrealistic.
The birds have provided a lot of fun and I hope to keep at it for the next month or so. Then the rainy season will start (we hope) and opportunities will be more difficult and limited.
