Laura's Lily

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

It was a lily kind of day when I spotted these two with the bottom one sporting a dragonfly and its shadow.

Specific Feedback

While I did darken the BG in post, not so much. My goal was to push the greens in the lilies up enough to offset the browns of both the stems and the dragonfly. I wonder now if I should have works the browns a bit more for highlights and a lighter tonal contrast.

Technical Details

image

Nikon D850, Nikkor 24-120 @120mm

Other than dinking a bit with the color balance, I really didn’t do a lot of post.

Chris: I like this and the party crasher. I would be sorely tempted to make the under water brown parts disappear as they don’t add much to the image and for me distract. >=))>

Agree…it was a tossup.
