Beautiful capture the goldfinch, David. The perch is interesting and the background is nice.

Really nice capture. The branch is relatively in focus throughout its length. A real plus. Great background. My only suggestion is a little more breathing room on the left if you have it.

Very nice! Interesting perch. I could see lifting the blacks just a little, and could see a little off the right, but a lovely image in any regard.

Sweet image of this bird, David. You might bring down the highlights on the lower body of the bird just a bit. Great pose and perch.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dennis. I’ll try to bring down the highlights on the lower body of the bird.

I do have some questions for you. Tell me about your monopod and the type of head you were using.

I actually went out and shot for the first time in several years. I use my 200 to 600 with the A1 and a 1.4 extender. Basically I was shooting a bunch of cormorants flying and a few other things here and there. But it feel good to be out there and shooting once again. At this point, I’m pretty limited in my travel.

So shooting in the yard may be as far as I get. As soon as the starlings fledge and leave the neighborhood, I’ll be able to set out my feeders again. It won’t be long. The Parkinson’s has stabilized somewhat, but I’m still in a fair amount of pain. I had cataract surgery last month and can see without my glasses for the first time since fourth grade. I had special lenses put in that are adjustable with ultraviolet light. My vision has improved considerably, but I have to use readers to do any computer work.
