Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
An older file from my digital infancy with a Canon 30D. Nowhere near macro, but close up.
Any and all feedback is welcome. Besides the leaf too close to the edges, anything else noticeable?

Michael, the leaf stands out nicely surrounded by those lovely bit of green moss. I’d suggest a slight burning-in of the leaf to pull out just a touch more of the yellow color.

I don’t ever remember seeing this before, but I have to say that this is a wonderful intimate scene with some lovely details and colors. I have no suggestions than the already mentioned adding a little more room at the top. Beautifully done.
Excellent find and very well photographed, Mike. You might give that point at the top a touch more breathing room and I’d personally be tempted to add bring out just a touch more structure in the leaf as the brightness of it kind of hides the fine structure.
Mike, I like how the leaf is just laying on the moss like that. I don’t have any suggestion to add to what has already been given. Nicely done.
I love this kind of image, Mike. It’s the combination of elements: leave on moss or succulent, yellow blush on green, the very concept of different species coexisting in a harmony of color, shape, texture.
A little more room up top would be nice, but I quite like the intimacy of the tight frame. My only suggestion: clone out that one bright spec along the top right half in the midst of that dark patch. I like the dark patch other than that.
