It appears the spring migration has started. Small flocks of shorebirds are starting to descend upon the South Puget Sound region. Typically, the peak is around the first week of May. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Hi David, nice environmental catch of this shorebird. You handled what appears to be harsh light well and the details in the bird look good to me. Nice placement of subject in the frame. Wishing for a catchlight but this is still a fine rendition of the bird which appears to be looking for food.
Nice detail in the Sandpiper, David, and a good pose and environment. It looks like you were able to get pretty low for this image as well.
