Light catchers

Image Description

Many folks here in Central Vermont are ready for weather warm enough to see spider webs but we’ll need to wait for the two feet of snow to melt a bit more. When they do show up, I love to try to find newer ways of seeing these amazing structures and I think this one, catching the light behind, is successful but leave it to viewer to offer your thoughts as well.

John: Webs are indeed great subjects and not all that easy to capture. The slightest zephyr makes them move and getting them lined up right can be a trick. At your aperture you really did well to get parallel to the plane of focus. The bokeh is also nicely presented. Hope warm weather heads your way soon. >=))>

This is a nice look at one of the most amazing and disposable structures in nature. Whenever I hike and notice that I’ll wreck one, I go around. When I do wreck on accidentally, I apologize to the spider. As if that helps. But these are ephemeral and rebuilt on an as needed basis. I like the symmetry of this one and the fact that it’s just a little bit of it. Good job getting the focal plane aligned with the web. The sidelight (?) works well to keep the strands visible on pretty much all the parts of the background.
