Mountains Past and Present

Image(s)

Image Description

On a trip to the Oregon Coast in August, I came across some patterns in the sand that were unlike any I’ve seen previously. This section looked like mountains to me. I then had the thought that over millennia mountains are slowly eroded to sand. This sand contains the spirit of mountains from the past.

It’s a fascinating scene, Chris. I really love the navy blue patches of “sky”. It’s properly grainy too (being sand!) - too much NR might spoil this. I’d like to see this filling my screen, but somehow I can’t get it to do this. Doesn’t matter, it’s super.

Thanks. Why do you think that is that it won’t fill the screen? I tried it also.

A lovely and mysterious scene! I have no sense of scale and would never have guessed at patterns in sand. Well seen and presented!

The size on screen is limited by the pixel dimensions of 1000 x 668, which I see when I hover over it. Something more like 2000 on the long side is better.

Thanks. Not sure why it ended up so small.

A very interesting scene, Chris. The separation of the colors is remarkable and they work very well together.
