Used the snow as the neutral point for the WB. Too warm?

Hey there Bill. I like that you have chosen a more intimate look at this mountain scene rather than a grand landscape. And the light hitting those trees on that one section looks great. I thought that slightly darkening the top section of the image would help them stand out more, but that’s it. Well framed.

I personally think the colors look good! I tend to prefer warmer anyway though. I love the contrast of the green trees with the yellow ones all fighting for life on the rocky slopes.

One thing I’d suggest experimenting with is cropping a bit. I think the further background on the very far right of the image diminishes the impact of the larches (?) in the upper middle. If you cropped in a bit and kept your focus on the plane of the landscape where the yellow larches are, I think that would strengthen the image a lot! Thanks for sharing.

I think the white balance is great…not too yellow. And I agree, my choice would be to slightly darken the upper right. No crop for me…I love the long vertical because it creates a mood of grandeur. And the lit trees are in a visually strong position (if you believe the rule of thirds).

I agree with @Tony_Siciliano comments, but would not darken the upper right. Beautiful as is.

Bill, this is lovely. The glow in the Larches (??) looks great and I thoroughly enjoy the added warmth of the cliffs in the bottom half. They’re a fine balance to the trees and the chilly cliffs up top. Yes, you could crop off the cliffs at the bottom and have a totally different photo that would hold it’s own.

Bill, I really like the image and I think the color balance and crop are good. There are some small areas of the trees that look slightly hot to me, and I do think toning down the URC could be a good move.
