Oasis

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This just seems way too lush for being a desert scene. It was taken at Joshua Tree in early June. The fan of three bright yellow blooms, I think from a Yucca plant, was striking against the darker foliage.

Technical Details

Nikon D500 with 70-200mm lens at 120mm. F11, 1/500 second, ISO 560

Yes, Mark, what some might call “desert” has a wide variety of interpretations. This does seem lush, but “the desert” does bloom on occasion. The Yucca blooms stand out well here while the rocks on the left add a touch of hardness. BTW, deserts also have oases and this looks like it might be near one.
