Old Faithful through Castle's Mist

Last spring, while roaming the upper geyser basin and watching Castle Geyser erupt, I had the pleasent surprise of catching Old Faithful erupting in the distance. After further investigation, it turns out the overlap in eruptions is not so unusual, since Castle erupts for around 20 minutes while Old Faithful’s time between eruptions is about 90 minutes.

The juxtaposition of the two erupting geysers is quite pleasing. The other thing that strikes me is the cumulonimbus cloud rising in the background to the right of Castle Geyser. A lot of different white tones in this image and they all seem to work well together.

Mark: Terrific capture of a unique moment. How long does Castle Geyser erupt and is it somewhat predictable like Old Faithful? Exploring the geyser basin is on my list for my next foray to Yellowstone and this makes me want to get there soon.>=))>
