This is a two and a half shot pano of Opal Pool in the Midway Geyser Basin of Yellowstone. The mid-afternoon light and partially clear sky let the colors in the pool and its basin show well. (5D3, 24-105@ 31, 1/200 s, f/13, iso 400, tripod and polarizer)
Wonderful subject and you photographed it beautifully. The larger the image the better it looks. You had some great light for this one. I wanted to shoot this pool when I was there but the walk was too long.
What a gorgeous range of colors, textures and shapes! I guess drones are prohibited there but – wow – what could be done with one!!!
Really nice image Mark, the combination of the aqua and rust colors just work so well together. I also like the composition, with how the thermal pool is balanced is balanced by the arc shape on the right. So going really wide works well for me. No nits from me, I’m liking this as presented.
