Orange...I Don't Know My Flowers

Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi

1/250th, f/11, ISO 400, 35mm

Looking through some of my older images, found this. Hope you like it! If you have a suggestion to improve, let me know! If you don’t like it…you know what they say about ‘sticks and stones’.

Thanks for looking! Jim, Louisville.

Jim: This is a day lily and a pretty one. I like the drops and the bud peeking out from behind. My only suggestion would be to blur/vignette the BG. Nicely captured.>=))>

A very nice image of the day lily, Jim, with excellent depth of field. I agree with Bill on doing something to tame the background, but a fine image.

I agree with the others. Nice shot that would be better with a softer BG. I’m not experienced enough in PS to blur a BG, so I try to avoid taking shots with a " busy" BG. With the 35mm, maybe a larger aperture would have given enough DOF on the flower with acceptable blur? Or maybe you could buy a $1000 iphone and “bokeh” the background. “Did you just bokeh my child”? LOL. I don’t know if you’ve seen that commercial or not. :vulcan_salute:

Ditto what Bill said.
