Osprey Catch

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time when this Osprey came to fish in front of me. Id decided to go with a tighter crop open this version because of the wing position.

Cool shot. Great detail in bird and fish and I like all those water droplets.

Hi Kurt
Like Allen said, very cool.

Great capture Kurt. Love the wing position and the great detail throughout. For me the crop is a bit tight. Just a tad more on the right and maybe even the top would look a bit less crowded IMHO.

Beautiful image, Kurt. The color of the koi or goldfish or whatever adds a nice touch to this. I agree with @Steve_Zimic on the crop.

Hi Kurt, wow what a great catch for you and the bird. Dynamic wing position, terrific pose of the fish, and the water droplets really convey the action. Agree on a bit looser crop especially room on the left for the bird to fly into.

That’s a killer frame !
As suggested, you may go less tight on this.
You may burn the whites to extract some more details.
Cheers !

Hello, Kurt, simply adorable with all those water droplets … A bird more spaces around the bird would be wonderful, but I must say that the tight cropping in this case enhances the impact imho, as if one was actually at the scene! Cheers, Hans
