Of the hundreds of photos I took of this fledgling over a couple of weeks this is my favourite. It appears to be hopping in its nest and flapping its wings. It had already started to fly and seemed to be practicing landings or perhaps grabbing prey.
Specific Feedback Requested
Because this is my emotional favourite I would really appreciate any critique regarding processing or settings for “next time”.

Nice catch! I think you have a good option here to move the bird back a little in the frame, both to give it some room to “move into” (even if it isn’t going to) and the remove the more artificial metal parts of the nest support.
That lens is amazing with the teleconverters – even the 2X – which saves the data loss of cropping.
I can never resist anthropomorphizing; the fierce stare makes the bird look quite upset about something.
Thanks for taking the time to give such helpful feedback! And yes I am also attributing human emotions and behaviours to animals. Who knows…maybe the title should be Hopping Mad…
Thanks again.
