The Paradise flycatcher, a winter migrant to my area in South India, certainly gave me the chase for hours before it settled down on a bright spot inside a tree showing off is long streamers
Specific Feedback
I’m torn between the urge to remove those bright spots on the top left vs leaving them in there to avoid any changes to the original frame I saw through the lens with that light coming through in that gap to highlight the bird.

Thats one I have been chasing for about three months now, though I have seen the brown morph a few times. Good to know you are from Bangalore …the large version of this image is a must see …very well done
This is utterly gorgeous, Anuradha. The composition is excellent and detail in the bird is fine with a good head turn. As to your question on the upper left, it depends partly on your personal approach to photography and partially on use. If you’re submitting it for a contest or publication that says essentially no editing, then you’re stuck with this. If you are approaching photography as art and give yourself more leeway, I would suggest picking up some green from the immediate area around the white and using a soft, low opacity brush to paint over the whites enough to subdue them a bit as I do find them to be a bit of an eye magnet.
Great catch Anuradha. What a striking bird with the spiked hairdo and that long tail. I could go either way on the upper left for the reasons stated by Dennis. I see a stray strand of a spider web in the large version of the image coming down from the bird’s throat area. I think that could go. Wonderful capture.
Wow. What a beautiful bird and a really great backdrop, the sky notwithstanding. The head turn is awesome! The head feathers show some excitement that something is about to happen. And that tail. Oh that tail!!! Good of you to get the whole tail in this frame. As far as your question regarding removing the bright spots, @Dennis_Plank gave a perfect response for that.
Thank you all so much! And yes, it makes sense to think about where I’m going to use the image to think about the bright spot. I don’t do photography competitions but I’m looking at potentially start trying for FIAP just to push myself and stay engaged in creating interesting images. I think I’m going to print this one for sure after all that encouragement from all of you
