Description

I was just taking the camera out on a walk and came across this.
It just stopped me.
The light was inspiring and the river behind me was music this day.

I can see why you stopped to take this image. Very nice light. I think the composition with the two groups of trees being just to the left and right of center works. You might consider a crop to remove the bit of branches on the left edge. Possibly on the right edge as well although that would result in cutting off the branches in the upper right corner.

Thanks for critique. I tried cropping on the left but it centered the rock right in the middle of the frame.
I like the square crop on this shot, putting the rock center did not work for me.
I need to work my composition’s better in the field.
It was still a nice day out Thanks again.

The light on those leaves is magical and I completely understand why you wanted to stop and photograph this. I agree with Dean about the left most edge and I too would consider cropping them out. I hesitate to say this because I’m not looking at this on a great monitor but the image looks a bit too green to me.
I brought your image into Photoshop and changed the color balance from green to magenta slightly (only -6) and I think I like it better. While I was there, I also tried cropping of a bit from the left, darkening the upper right corner and lightening the rock and the tree trunks a little bit. I hope you don’t mind. I just wanted to show you and others another possibility (or opinion) for this. It’s up to you to decide whether you like it or not.

I Hello Mathieu, I absolutely love the yellows in this image. The light makes the color border on magical. I agree with Dean and Tom about cropping off the left. The one thought I have, is that I wish I could see the tops of those trees. They feel very cut off to me. If the tops exist, you might consider changing that crop.
