Prelude B&W

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I’ve posted the color version of this before which is close to B&W in its natural state so I just decided to be lazy and go all the way. The shadow play and the bug tracks were what attracted me to the scene. >=))>

Specific Feedback

Taken in White Sands before it was a National Park on our only visit to the park.

Way To Cool.!!! Simple and works perfect in B&W. The Lines and Tone really works… You have a great eye Bill. The Bug tracks really are so interesting… I don’t think i have ever seen anything like that …

Excellent detail here in this sand dune scene, Bill. The main plant & shadow gets the main focus, but the granular sand, sand drifts, and critter tracks provide the outstanding backdrop here… :+1:

Well done! I like everything about this B&W capture. What a nifty texture study it is. I would not chang a thing.

Great low sun angle and it’s really cool the way the shadows of the vegetation cross the ripples . The tracks are also a great bonus. Very well done, Bill.

Bill, I remember the color version. This conversion also looks great. The bug tracks (zippers???) are an excellent extra.

I love the contrasts in this image -the light versus dark, soft versus rough textures. Well done - and a nice interpretation of the theme!
