Reaching for the Sky

Vibrant tulips at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA.

Tulips are abundant at Longwood, and it’s so easy to take the standard shot across the top of a field of their vibrant blooms. But I liked the way their petals seemed to be “reaching” for the sky, so I got down on the ground and shot up, to look at the sky from their point of view.

Mark, I really like this. The POV really gives us an “ant’s viewpoint” of these lovely tulips. Very nice.

Mark, the low view does a fine job of emphasizing the upward sweep of these tulips.

I am enjoying the POV, DOF, and primary colors.

Thanks @Shirley_Freeman, @Mark_Seaver, and @David_Schoen for your nice comments!

Great angle on the tulips and you picked a wonderful color to do it with against the blue and white of the sky.
