Lovely background and I like how the moss balances the nuthatch. Good detail in the nuthatch. I like the composition and regarding the saturation, perhaps the moss could be less bright as it does tend to draw my eye from the bird-though I do find it an integral element in the composition.
David, this is a fine image. I love how the moss seems to frame the bird, as well as match the well with the BG colors. I like the intense look he has, making me wonder what is just outside the frame that has his attention. Very nice shot.
He does look intent on something. Gorgeous colors, with the BG working well with the bird. The interesting perch brings a nice touch of neutrality to the color scheme.
I’ve never seen one, but the maps show they might be seen here.
